Daniel was born three and a halve years back to a single mother in the village of Kikaiykelake in the kumbo subdivision of the North West region of Cameroon. He developed severe knocked knees due to malnourishment after his mother stopped breast feeding him two years ago.
We found Daniel on one of our outreach programs and took him to the hospital for consultation. The Orthopedist indicated osteotomy for correction of his bony deformity.
Crystal Foundation took care of the all the financial obligations that was required to perform this surgery. He was operated upon on the 11th of May 2016. The surgery was a success and the knocked knees have been corrected. His legs are now straight, though they are still in plasters. When the plasters will be removed, the child will pass through bracing and physiotherapy.
There is hope for young Daniel. He has been given a chance to live like every other young child of his age without having to worry about the deformity which he developed. I am particularly grateful to Crystal Foundation for this timely intervention. I had the pleasure of watching things change for better in the life of this boy and his entire family. The family of Daniel is so grateful that they can hardly find words to express their Joy. Thanks to all who help make this impact in the lives of children with disabilities.
